August 7, 14, 21, 28

Students will develop literacy skills while fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving through STEM-based exploration. The picture books chosen for this book study lend themselves to exploring STEM concepts. We will be reading What Do You Do With an Idea, Rosie Revere, Engineer, Ada Twist, Scientist, and Mr. Ferris and His Wheel. Each story will inspire students to engage with hands-on activities like graphing, blueprint designing, parachute challenges, and creating a Ferris wheel, all while reinforcing core STEM concepts.

Each 45-minute session is designed for children ages 6–9 and includes crafts, experiments, and discussions that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and exploration. From building with LEGOs and investigating scents to sequencing events in engineering projects, students will learn through fun, interactive activities that help them think critically and embrace their curiosity.
